Perth tends to produce power pop bands with few rivals. I remember buying this around 1979 and just being blown away. One of those LP's you just buy because the cover (or the back) looks cool. It turned out to be a killer LP - but no one has ever heard of this band. Then and now. Just download and listen to a lost treasure.

I am really enjoying your blog, downloading some old stuff I've been looking for and some other stuff I have'nt heard off. I saw this LP in David Jones in the $1 bin (at Parramatta), in my teens. Don't know who the record buyer was at DJs' but they had some good shit, also in the $1 bin was about 10 copies of The Cure's - Another Journey... [12 inch Green Vinyl], I should have bought the lot (for ebay selling). ps Pearl Harbor & the Explosions is one of my favorite power pop LP's. Keep 'em coming I say.
ReplyDeleteHi. This came out on CD a few years ago. I bought it, having owned the LP from the time it came out. I saw LD play around Perth a few times. I lived there briefly in 79/80 and again in 82...ish. "Telephone" got some play on Perth radio at the time. The live scene in Perth was brilliant at the time and this band were just one of many playing the pubs. They were great live too.
