The Mexican Spitfires - Lupe Velez (Mini-Album)

Their only release!!  Jangly guitars with an acoustic twist.  After this mini LP they went into the studio but ground to a halt.  Enough tracks were collected for an EP which was to be titled 'Elephant' - but it's never been released.  Now, that may not be correct (officially) - maybe it snuck out.  Would love to hear from anyone who has this or any other output.

  2. Pretty sure there isn't anything else. The EP 'Elephant' was to be an album but it was all abandoned. But, I bet it's out there somewhere.

  3. Hi Mr W & W, you seem to be putting all your efforts into the Weird & Whacky site but please don't forget the other two sites you've started, I love hearing/reading about old Australian acts and louder punk stuff too. Thanks!

  4. I think I've over-extended here. All my problems are really about UP-LOADING!!! Still on ADSL1 here at my end of the line. Can you believe that. It'll all happen though. I've got enough stuff here for all 3 blogs to fill out the next 20 years. Scary.

  5. I have got some great stuff from your blog, so thanks, some I've known of the artists and some I took your recommendations. I love the name 'The Books' & 'The Brains' (may have heard of them?). As for power pop. I love Pearl Harbo(u)r & Explosions, and an Aussie band called The Dukes, I have a single (they covered Lou Reed), but I think they may have had an LP? I am old fashioned and still like to buy CD's, (although I still have vinyl), so if I see any of the stuff on your blog I like, I will buy, it's fair to the artist too. So thanks again and I will keep checking out your site for stuff I may like or have never heard.
