This comes from the world of Echo and The Bunnymen. Made when Ian McCulloch and Will Sergeant were doing their 'not in the Bunnymen' thing (what's that all about? Tossers) - they then made the best 'non-Bunnymen' album ever. This is seriously very good, but totally ignored. Songs like 'Zephyr' and 'Too Far Gone' - wowsers! Oh yeh, ain't the cover great!

Is this their only release? I have a CD by them...but with a different cover and great song called "Cosmic Castaway" on it.

ReplyDeleteI am in error! Happens a lot, actually. The group I am thinking of is Electrasy, which sits right next to my copy of Electrafixion and also has a dark cover. For some reason my comments are occasionally duplicating. A glitch, I guess.
ReplyDeleteDear Mr. W&W, many thank-yous for this. An extraordinary album from Will & Ian et al. Will's guitars (a Gretsch "Country Gentleman", I believe) are ferocious throughout. Great stuff.
ReplyDeleteTotally under-rated. Basically a 'rockier' Echo & The Bunnymen album.
